Fishing Report Week # 21, Jan 28 – Feb 05, 2016

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: women are better anglers than men!

Such was the case during the 21st week of the season, January 28 through February 5.

We had a full boat with 24 guests on board, hailing from all over the United States and Canada. Deb McCormick and her party of 14 purchased their trip at the DSC 2015 Convention while the father and son team of Randy Orzalli and Bruce Thomas booked with us at the SCI 2015 Convention. Other guests included Steve and Bette Lombardi, Greg and Gina Jeffress, Dimitra and Michael Sutsos, and old friends and Knights of the Rio Negro Queen Horace Rieger and his lovely wife Karen Flahive.

All combined this group landed 1,259 Peacock Bass and a host of other Amazonian species which was a fantastic showing considering that the water level was lower than normal.

Yep.

Even the Amazon Rainforest experiences an occasional dry spell.

But drier than normal or not, this group did fantastic.

Of the Peacock Bass they landed 11 that weighed 10 pounds, one 11 pounder, three 12 pounders, one 13 pounder, one 14 pounder, two 15 and two 16, one 18 pounder, one 20 pounder, and one beast of a 21 pounder.

And as I mentioned earlier, the women on this trip proved to be the better anglers with Deb landing the biggest fish of the week, a 21 pound bruiser, and her friend Larissa hauling in a 20 pound brute.

In addition, this group enjoyed all that our yacht and staff had to offer. They danced, drank, ate chef prepared meals, had a massive shore lunch party and an even bigger nighttime barbeque party on a virgin beach. This group had so much fun that several have already booked a return trip with us and we can’t wait to see them again.

And to see what they think of our new yacht which is much bigger and far more elegant than the one we’re using this season.

I know they’ll love it.

I know this because I know Amazônia.

I’m Capt Peacock.
