Fishing Report: October 15 – 23, 2015

By Capt Peacock

If this past week of October 15 – 23 is any indication, the 2015 – 2016 fishing season is going to be phenomenal and a hell’uva lot of fun.

My guides, chef, support staff, and I entertained 24 guests this past week. We had four couples, one party of four, one party of three, and one single angler and all had a great time. In addition to the catfish and piranha they landed they also caught almost 1,500 Peacock Bass.

The break down on the bigger ones was as follows:

27 10 pound fish

3 11 pounders

6 12 pounders

2 13 pounder beasts

3 14 pounders

4 15 pounders

2 16 pounders

4 17 pounders

1 18 pound leviathan

1 19 pound beast

and 1 24 pound monster

Check out the video below of Hugo pulling in that 24 pound gargantuan.

In addition we had a couple anglers that took to the river at night for some great bowfishing action. They took a number of rays and an assortment of fish.

Of course the group did more than fish.

They drank, danced, dinned on chef prepared meals, had a fantastic shore lunch, a phenomenal Brazilian style barbeque on a virgin beach untouched by anyone except them on that night, and enjoyed massages and spa treatments.

I think it says a lot that most booked a return trip and it says even more that most are bringing guest next year.
