While the East Coast of the United States is in the midst of “Blizzardpocalypse” or “Snowpocalypse” or whatever else it is that those annoying TV weather folk are calling this storm, I’m down here in Amazônia living the good life.
Make that the GREAT life.
I mean what else would you call living on a 125 foot luxury yacht on the most fertile river known to anglers?
The GREAT life.
Fortunately, I got to share this hedonistic lifestyle with 12 couples. Most of these are repeat customers and one couple, Paul and Kelly McLean, was down here to celebrate their 25th anniversary with us.
These 24 guests drank, ate, partied, danced, drank, had fun, and…oh…they fished too. Combined they landed over 1,200 peacock bass under 10 pounds and an incredible 35 over 10 pounds. And considering all the fun this group had while NOT fishing, that’s a hell’uva haul.
Of course, as is often the case, the women caught the biggest fish.
Funny how the women’s husbands never share those pictures with me.
But I assure you it’s true.
I know this because I know Amazônia.
I’m Capt Peacock.
