I know all of you are probably prepping for Christmas and don’t have much time to read a fishing report from the good captain but this week’s haul was just too good not to share.
This week we had an eclectic group onboard to be sure.
We had four Russians, three doctors, four couples (one of which was celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary by fishing with us), two friends four fathers and sons…all in all just a fantastic group of 21 guests aboard my 125-foot yacht.
And I think it speaks volumes that all of these, with the exception of one couple, were repeat customers.
All told this group landed 1,767 peacock bass and countless barracuda, piranha, and dogfish. The largest caught was done so by Conner Case. This 19 year old from Plano, Texas reeled in a monster twenty pounder. Russian Andrey Sorokin also landed a twenty pounder…
Yes. Technically that is a tie but let’s declare the youngster the winner. Shall we?
Canadian Hugo Liang landed what ended up being a 19 pound peacock. Who know what it would have weighed had one of those darned pink dolphins not chomped off its tail.
In addition to landing fish, our guests ate, drank, and overall had a swell time. Many enjoyed a massage or two and all agreed that they’d be back with me again.
Of course I knew this already.
I know this because I know Amazônia.
I’m Capt Peacock.
